I apologize for apologizing for my question because it really is the most important thing raised in the discussion so far.

No one in my family has ever had colon cancer, or even colon polyps, so far as I know.

They found some polyps at my last colonoscopy. That knocks me into a higher risk category.

But I don't have the colon cancer gene.

Just sayin'.
