So my frame has a crack in it due to rust on the chainstay. It has almost formed completely around the tubing but right now it is about 2/3 of the tubing. I realize the safest thing to do would be start riding my other bike... But just curious, how bad do you think I will eat it if my chainstay breaks. It is on my fixed gear and I bomb some hills. Will I eat major **** if it breaks bombing a hill or will the other tubes hold me together so my fall won't be that bad?
That is only the rust you can see. Chances are excellent that rust is working it's way from the inside out in several other key locations. It is time to put your beloved bike on permanent display and get another.
