Apologies to LBS's everywhere. I understand your pain.
Years ago, I was on a "citizens" team sponsored by an LBS. I was looking for a new Campy Chorus crankset. The owner wanted to charge me like $300 or something. I could get it online for like $175 or something. Shoot, the owner could've bought it from the place I found it at, marked it up $30-$40 and I'd have bought it from him. But, the $100+ difference just didn't justify it for me.
My current philosophy is: I'll go to my LBS whenever I need manual work done (especially wheel builds), sometimes even stuff I can do myself. But I do buy product for myself if I can get it cheaper doing so.
