Every time you ride a bike you have to get on and off sometimes abruptly so standover height does matter. Do you really want to ride a bike with a standover height that is too tall for you? Aesthetically a pile of spacers just looks terrible and yes aesthetics do matter when your shelling out a chuck of money. As I stated earlier a steeply sloped top tube with miles of seat tube exposed is unappealing to me. Really I'm not here to debate 650b wheels or bike geometry I was just interested in the pros and cons of disc brakes vs cantys, in particular the effects on the frames ride quality.
