strange folks, out there in vegas.

besides one order that took about a week longer than it should have (they were swamped with orders, and my parts got misplaced, a simple mistake), i've ordered from them maybe 5 or 6 times, both on ebay and off, with good results.

they seem like nice enough people, but it's really no mystery why their business is hurting. among publishing wholesale prices, rants against suppliers and other shops and these borderline bizarre (yet somehow fascinating) two page emails i'd get from neal about related and entirely unrelated things, you can see why they might come across as poor business-people, or just slightly loco.

anyway, on the plus side, any time i've found something priced lower elsewhere, they've always beat that price, probably operating with some pretty slim profit margins (the track side of the shop does not make a profit, according to neal). also, almost every time i've ordered from them, they've sent me something better than what i've ordered, maybe on purpose, maybe not. one time, they sent me a nicer cog than what i ordered, one time a much more expensive chain.
