Usually I'm a "buy once, buy right" kind of girl, but I think this warrants an exception. Don't kill yourself or your wallet to have the exact right thing right away. Just get a decent local mixte with sprightly geometry so you have something to ride until the "right one" comes along. You will probably be surprised how well a fair-to-middling mixte will serve you. You can always convert to smaller wheels if TCO is a problem. And then when your dream bike turns up in Canada you will have a very easy bike to sell. These guys are always looking for a bike to fit their tiny wives! ; )
