Yes, I know, it's not bicycle related, but I figured it wouldn't really matter. I don't follow. Both cycling and running are cardio intensive and put your legs to work. Wouldn't something like weight lifting to develop upper body strength be more of a balance?
Depending what part of Florida you're in, kayaking is great for that - it's fun, gets you outside, and works a lot of muscles that cycling doesn't.
