Yep ..it is hard to imagine that more padding and more widing is not always more comfortable...
Talking about stock seats - I got one it says SKYE but in reality is is Velo (read Nashbar R2)... 199 gramms, with titanium rails, narrow and hard is very comfortable. For me.
Terry Zero Y is hard, slim and comfortable too... Selle Italia Flite Gel has more padding than any of the above - it took me a month the break it in...
All depends...
P.S. Rocket V was good for me but only on XC bike... on the road it felt too soft..
