Exactly right - the bed in the temples where they go over the ears is what is digging in and causing pain. I worked at Lenscrafters for a couple of years and used to spend 8 hours a day sometimes adjusting glasses, saw this all the time.

I just bought a pair of Tifosi sunglasses and I have to admit they're darn good for the price. They have the straight style temples so I think they'd be a good choice for you. You can try adjusting the bend in the temples to where it is further back also. Or go to Lenscrafters and have them do it for you.
