Recharge rate has an effect on the durability of the batteries. I'm putting 7 amps of an average 48V (this varies) in so 350 watts or so. Their rated to take up to 40 amps but the life of the batteries declines dramatically plus that big of charger is big money. What I normally do is charge them to 80% as soon as I get back. Then before I leave on the next trip top them off in about 15 minutes.

The Xtracycle isn't as stiff as the Big Dummy or so I've read but considering how cheap the front fork is on the Sedona maybe that's not so bad.
