A few questions pop to mind to answer this:
  • What kind of workouts do you do on your legs outside of biking? (You mentioned running, but is there anything else?)
  • How is your seat adjusted? (Optimal position is so that while seated, your knee is almost straight, but not locked when the pedal is at the lowest point of travel)
  • What is your cadence while riding? (Cadence = Pedaling speed. Too low a cadence can wear you out quickly. Optimum cadence for almost everyone is >70 rpm, and a comfortable range (for me at least) is 80-110)

I will second the recommendation that you trade up at a later date to a more durable bicycle.
