The added cost of a multifocal implant might not be brought to your attention if you still need glasses to see out of the remaining eye. When my wife had her surgery, it was needed in both eyes and the opthamologist gave her the option of having the multifocal implant lens at a cost of nearly $1,000.00 for each eye. In my case, the multifocal lens was not an option because I will probably need to have glasses in order to see distances as good in the left eye as I do in the corrected right eye.
