I still say go SLR. At first, I thought the stock saddle that came on my bike was terribly uncomfortable because I didn't think it had enough padding. After a while, I realized that it was the padding that was making it worse for me. I got used to riding on a road saddle after a couple of weeks, and realized I wanted something completely different than what I would want in BMX type saddle.

I've preferred my saddles to be supportive, to flex, and to be comfortable in multiple positions, while being minimalist in padding. The SLR has so far been perfect for me.
