I think you've said you're dumb a few times. Don't forget you were struck by a vehicle and injured, and prior to that, had to try to avoid a collision that could have been worse. A lot of people don't think clearly under these conditions.

I would try talking to the LAPD again. Partial plate with car manufacturer/model/color can narrow the search by quite a lot. Also, if it was during rush hour, the driver will probably take the same road around the same time for her commute.
