"It's the Biker, not the bike, dude!!!"
I was in a bike shop a few weeks ago in Orlando. I saw a group of about 12 come in from a Saturday morning ride. This older guy, around mid thirties (this guy was really cut), was laughing and taking pats on the back for an amazing ride and apearantly the first to arrive at the line that morning. Among the Colnagos, Treks, and Kleins, and others, I looked at his bike, an old 90s Cannondale spec'd out with Shim 105, and a Brooks saddle. Wow!! Do these bikes still exist? So I asked him, "Excuse me, but how did you do it on this bike?" One of the posers laughed at me and said, "it's the Biker, not the bike, dude."
I guess it works the same way with golf. I have some nice clubs, but a very high score every time. I'm terrible!!!! Can't blame the clubs anymore. I guess I'm just a lousy golfer.
