I, too have a couple of Cyclone first gen rear derailleurs and the cable anchor bolts are both shot. The socket head is so shallow, that it can easily round out, making the bolt useless. I have not had any luck finding a bolt that will fit.
Fortunately, I found a couple more Cyclone rear derailleurs, since then, and am ready to start the work on my Nishiki Continental. Now if I just had the correct crank set for the bike, my day would be perfect (until I get a chance to screw it up, at least - it is earlie:-)
Now I'm confused - it sounds like you're describing a Cyclone M-II, which has a socket head nut for a cable anchor. The earlier cyclone has a drilled bolt with an acorn nut as SixtyFiver described.
FWIW, I picked up two of the M-II nuts from a seller on eBay a few years ago. He didn't list them directly but had a lot of NOS Suntour bits listed, so I inquired about the nuts and it paid off!
