You can't compare Canadian prices with US ones (except roughly).

It appears it's the 2011 model.

The US price for a 2012 is $1199 (the 2012 has been downgraded slightly). Let's assume the 2011 price was the same.

The 2011 came with a Brooks saddle, rear rack, Lyzene pump and fenders.

It also comes with a 11-34 cassette (is there a 105 compatible with that?).

You have to compare it with similar bikes (ie, other touring bikes).

And we have no idea what road bike you are talking about.

Anyway, the interest here isn't that it is or isn't a good deal. It's that it's not a typical Walmart bike. The fact that Walmart happens to be selling it doesn't mean that Walmart doesn't mostly sell crap.

And the OP is trying to resurrect a failed argument (and it's still dead).
