I am really not sure what it is. The boat ramp is on the left side of the picture, so I assume it is a weird dock. There were openings on the side but no cleats to dock your boat to. I couldn't tell how far it went into the water either. The picture was taken about 20ft down the thing. The park area was created by the CCC and is now maintained by the Corp of Engineers. I guess it was someones off the wall idea. I have always liked it though. One of my wifes favorite books is "Where the sidewalk ends," so the picture was for her.
