This will be my third BD bike and I've been very pleased with the previous two.
I chose this bike because it was the most affordable shimano based bike. What are peoples thoughts on mixed groupos? The bike comes with Ultegra components except the FSA crank and Cane Creek brakes.
The previous two bikes(Century Comp, and Fantom 29er) had FSA cranks as well, and I realize that they are trying to lower the price point of these bikes, but why on an Ultegra bike?
Wouldn't having a complete 105 setup be similar in price? How would the FSA crankset be different than the 105 crankset? Are the shifters and the deraileurs more important than the brakes and the cranks, hence they decided to concentrate on those?
As others have recommended I'll be replacing the pads with koolstop on day 1.
Yes, but then it wouldn't have Ultegra. As long as it has some Ultegra, they can advertise it as an "Ultegra bike" and customers are mostly fine with that.
