The calculator posted in the link above will give you values designed for slow meandering through the country side with no regard for PERFORMANCE. They will, in fact, give you pressures well below what is recommended by the tire manufacturers themselves.

This calculator should be called a Pinch Flat Generator. It recommended I run 82PSI on my front tire.

Seriously.

Tires are DESIGNED and CONSTRUCTED to work best within a fairly narrow range. This range is where performance, traction, wear and puncture resistance values most closely come together. Use pressures that fall outside of that and you are sacrificing somewhere.

If you're looking for an off the shelf number then for a 23mm~25mm tire 95psi~110psi will cover most tires, for most riders, under most conditions. You can adjust to taste within that range and probably not be giving anything up in return.
