There is a time and place for everything, you were attacked and chose not to defend yourself. I hope you don't choose to go through your entire life being a doormat.
I fail to see the point of defending yourself if it is obvious the other guy is going to pulverise you. All that achieves is that the aggressor will feel vindicated and more sure of themself. You need to decide how best to get justice and sometimes your best hope is with the police. Unfortunately often that amounts to only a slim hope so some intelligent folks just notch it up to experience. However, if you live in a country where a person has a right to carry additional means of protection then that would be the obvious choice........
