It is not the First, but most probably the first to see genuine series production.
Mossberg had one, and so did a company in San Diego called Composite USA, (might have been Graphite USA) their frames were trick, oversized tubing, and alloy welded lugs. I raced against a guy testing one in 1974-75.
Also, Carlton showed a carbon and alloy frame a few years before, but it was a bike show only deal.
