However, I want to switch from the racier saddle that it came with to a Brooks B17 or something of that sort. I've had a B15 narrow in the past, and loved it. However, as I'm starting to enjoy longer and longer rides, I'd like something slightly wider.
So really, how dumb would a saddle like this look on a compact road bike?
Form follows function. You've added a rack and panniers to increase the utility of your bike. It sounds like a different saddle would allow you to ride more.
My bikes will never win any awards for their aesthetics, and that's OK with me. I want to ride them as much as possible, and I choose my parts accordingly.
