Locking up the front wheel (if that is what happened) is operator error and usually does damage to the bike and rider. High side = bike and rider go airborne, followed by a sudden hard landing. Been there, done that, got the scars and surgeries.
Flipping = high side, which is very, very dangerous.
Entering a corner too fast = operator error as well.
+1 Never brake in a curve, and if you must brake, rear only. Front traction is just about fully consumed already in the turn. There is little to no traction left on the front wheel for braking.
You decide what speed to take through a corner before you enter the turn. Enter too fast, and you have very few options left. Entering too slow is no risk, entering too fast = risk.
