Loosen the screw that holds the L-shape metal piece, and turn it 90deg. Then, unscrew the mounting bracket all the way and "sandwich" the L-shape metal piece with the bracket. Advantage of this mounting method is no need to buy anything extra. Bad news is that the light would be a little offset from the center axis of the bike but that's merely cosmetic.
