I have enough room. Also, I really can't get anywhere near what I paid for the good bikes, and the beater bikes have little invested in them.
Selling them unless I need room is OK for me. I did at one time think about trading a good bike in when buying a new one. But there's nothing wrong with the old bike and I'll never again get one that nice for what I paid for it. A bike shop owner finally convinced me to keep it. He was right.
I end up using the old bikes anyway. If they sit for years the only thing they will need is tires.
