Thanks everyone for the feedback and assistance. I feel better hearing that it's simply a crack in the paint rather than something more serious. If they had not dragged out the process and ignored me (Kuota HQ included - they're just awful) I would not have been more willing to accept what they have to say from the start.

Curious though if it's common enough to get cracks in the paint in that specific area.
