Seriously, you have a valid point about scheduling overhauls, and i=other elective work, but it's a long time from March to December, and people who use their bikes for commuting, on the job, or as their main source of transport need a shop that respects that and can schedule repairs expeditiously. I spent many years in retail, and it's not difficult to accommodate these clients, all that matters is that the management want's to.

To the OP. I searched and there seems to be 4 or 5 shops in the Dudley area. You might do the rounds, and ask who's interested in the service business of a daily rider. Odds are one will find a way to make a customer of you.
