Thanks for the quick follow up FBinNY, just a clarification on item 1. on my last post, I mean the same gauge spoke, not necessarily the same length. And it looks like you prefer different gauge from left to right, rather than the same? What's your take on the real-world benefits of doing this over using the same gauge? I've seen people recommend straight gauge on the drive side, and different gauge double butted, and I've had bike mechanics say the prefer too use the same gauge on both sides. This leads me to think it has more to do with personal preference rather that real-world benefit. Or its a balance of convenience and durability when building the wheel? What do you think?
