I just stick with the freebie bottles for quick rides. I get new free ones faster than I can wear through and/or lose the old ones, and I lose them often enough that the cost of buying non-free bottles would quickly add up.

Or just get a Bell Expand-A-Cage, and you can use just about any bottle ever made for any purpose: http://www.academy.com/webapp/wcs/st...-1?N=855520905

For long rides I use a real Camelbak pack. Even my thin-and-light 50oz Hydrobak model has much greater capacity and insulation than bottles, and the bite valve is right at my shoulder so I don't have to reach for it and it doesn't get filthy so I'm not sucking on dirt whenever I drink from it. I bought the Hydrobak ten years ago, and (cleaned regularly) it's still going strong and shows no signs of wear or breakdown. (Not so for my Bell and High Sierra brand packs that failed at the bladder or the bite valve.)
