He wants something with the feel of a brifter. Those hoods are much different than Shimano STI hoods or any other ones.

I ride with the Tekro levers, they are ok. The Cane Creek may be better. I have some busted Campy shifters, they are better but these other levers feel the same in my hands while riding. Campy's lever has less flex while braking
