Spend tomorrow afternoon at a bike shop and test ride 1 or 2 ROAD bikes. Write down the make, model, and size of them and let us know which ones fit well. Chances are you are like a 54-55cm.

And don't get down on yourself. We are just giving you a hard time. It's an honest mistake and a common one. You still have options. You can either sell that bike and buy a new one. But, selling a 47cm will be very hard. Or you can buy a new frame and move the components over.
