Which leads me to wonder, how many of you have two panniers and use them to their full capacity? What exactly are you putting in there to use, let's say...40L or more?

I could understand the need for touring purposes, but for the simple daily grind, what's in your panniers? I'm mostly curious because I'm unsure of whether I should go back and get another pannier for 'insurance'.
I really only use one, the left (the added width makes my bike appear larger to cars, and they give me more room, I think). I always ride with two. Why? Vanity. I have Carradice panniers, which are made of cotton duck with leather straps. I don't want one to age and one to look brand new. I want them both to have a nice patina and the appearance of beausage.

Damn you, Grant Peterson. Damn you. :-)
