I am new to road biking and I am going to be purchasing my first road bike to save money on gas, as the prices just keep going up. So this summer I plan on doing the majority of my traveling by bike.

I went into a few bike shops and road bikes brand new are very expensive, so to try and save some money I went onto craigslist and searched for bikes in my area.

I found a 2010 Scott Speedster s50 for $500. I have absolutely no knowledge bike pricing so I am wondering if this is a good deal?

Looks like a nice bike. 267.5 mi and the owner is throwing in a helmet.
