hello OP from toronto. i am also from the toronto area and have a 1990 cdale crit. it is currently torn down 'resting' in the basement but has served duty as a geared and ss commuter. if you must go fixed, get an ENO, no question. make sure you never put a 120mm rear axle wheel in the dropouts either as that is too much stress for a bike that notoriously removed peoples teeth.
care to post a picture? i'd like to see if your bike was once one of mine. in the past, i had a cannondale problem.
