OK, I read this part and it seemed to me that you had an opportunity to say something appropriate and well-intentioned to them. No need to buy a motorcycle, you rode by them in the parking lot. Maybe they've never considered what they look like to 90% of the public.
And yeah - a little speed bump with a detour for strollers or walkers. This isn't rocket science. More cops, more rules and more tickets are not required.
Personally, I detest riding on MUPs. Too many intersections, cross walks, dogs on long leashes & dingbats walking four abreast in the bike lane portion. I'm not particularly keen on getting flattened by a car either though, but traffic doesn't bother me until the speed limit is 45+ and there's not really any shoulder room. What are you going to do?
