Well I've been asking a lot fo questions from you veterans here, and I really appreciate your responses. Since I'm very new to the vintage and road bike scene I would like to get your opinions. Pretty much this thread will consist of helping me make a decision to put money on the bike or save the money for a better bike in the future.

Now I'm going to start off by explaining what I'll be using the bike for, the bike will be used mostly for commuting. I'll probably ride with a group on occasion but 90% of the time I'll be commuting or going out for a ride by myself. It will also be my form of cardio as I hate running.

The bike is Univega Gran Rally with Shimano 600 components

Option one is to put money into the bike, meaning this is what I would do/add to the bike:

- Shimano 600 Front Brakes
- Shimano 600 Crankset
- Brooks Saddle
- Grand Cru Wheelset
- Nitto Noodle Bar
- Bar Tape
- MKS Pedals
- VO Fenders
- VO Rear Rack
- New Paintjob, same color

the paintjob will probably be the most expensive but I don't think I'll spend over 150 on it.


Option two:
- Save the money for a future bike


I bought the bike for 250, and I'm torn whether to put more money on it or save that for a better bike in the future...
