If commuting is the goal, then making it all pretty and desirable might be a mistake. The bike thieves will love you for it and it will not ride any better. Plus, you should ask yourself Should I Paint My Bike? Some of the information contained in that article might really surprise you.

Ride what you have now and start looking for a better bike. If you have not already done so, contact all of your friends, acquaintances and business associates or co-workers. Ask each if they have an old Ten Speed or old road bike for sale. You just might be surprised at the treasures that can be pulled out of their hiding places with that simple question.
