With "Lite" meaning
not quite as awesome as Pastor Bob's, Chrome Molly's, or Chicago Steel's! I'm planning on building a flat-land commuter for my son-in-law, but trying to keep the costs reasonable...
With help from the "mechanics" section I disassembled the kickstand, and cleaned up the stuff I'm saving. I'm keeping the parts pictured, and will be shopping (used, when possible) for the rest. By the way, the bare frame and fork together weigh about 10 pounds.
I've ordered the
Truvativ American to Euro BMX Bottom Bracket Adapter, and will be on the lookout for a decent 3-piece crank, and some rattrap pedals with clips.
The wheels had been swapped out (unfortunately), so that will be another thing I"ll be searching for. Aluminum, 27" x 1 1/4", with a 6 ring cassette. I assume a 6 gear rear will fit, right?
The brakes are interesting, with one stamped "Brake made in Western Germany by Weinmann", and the other stamped as "Brake made in Switzerland by Weinmann." The handlebars, stem, and brakes seem lightweight and decent so I'm keeping those.
