NCDOT has clear instruction to bicyclists that contradicts sgoodris suggestions. Even the phamplet he references has numerous statements -direct from the NCDOT - about "bikes to the right" when not travelling the speed limit.

vid- the bolded notes i posted at the top of the page are direct from NCDOT official bike manual.

"Slow moving vehicles must keep to the right side" "moving to the right to allow legally operated overtaking vehicles to safely pass" "you can ride far enough to the left to avoid road hazards..."

.....unclear why there is such a disconnect from NCDOT explicit instruction about bicycling regulations, and what bicyclists think the NCDOT has to say about biking in NC.
