Oh, I don't buy that either. But I do buy the prospect that if applying the same torque to a greased and a non-greased crank taper, the possibility of driving the greased crank arm further up on the spindle flats is real. And I'm not sure that's a good thing. I aint no engineer of course, but I'm not aware that press fits in general require lubrication. Sort of counter intuitive in my book, but, my book is often a strange read.
