This calls for a name for that section of trail. I had a similar experience in some mudd ruts. There were a couple guys behind me who couldn't believe I kept riding. That trail is now called miracle mile. It was a long clay double track downhill used by oilfield service vehicles.

I would say God's angels were propping you up. Do you often make them work overtime? Are their people depending on your income?
