My interest in it is for a single wall, net fringed tent. According to BearPaw, it's more waterproof than sylnylon, tougher and lighter. Pricer too. Nice that they'll sell it by the yard for DIY. I've requested a sample to put to the test.
I've heard nothing but good things regarding Cuben fiber, it's all the rage at
Backpacking Light. The one problem with it (aside from the cost) is it is fairly transparent, so you do end up lacking privacy.

Trailstar is on my list, it's not quite what you're looking for, but it's a pretty awesome shelter. Add an inner net tent and you have a great looking shelter for all weather.
