Im running 7 speed downtube shifters right now and Im thinking about getting old STI shifters and putting them on except I highly dislike having the cables in front of the handlebars. I frankly cannot stand it, I find it distracting and ugly.

I have done my research and it looks bleak and aside from a whole new group I am at a loss. Anyone have feedback?
