Had the Pinnie for a couple of months now and beginning to get to know it. Overall I am pleased with the bike but I had to change the tyres. The OM's never did feel right and when I got two punctures- one front and one rear- in the same ride I found out why. There was a distinct lack of rubber on the tyres. If these were my usual PR3's- I would say that they had come to the end of their life but they had only done 100 miles or so and the patterning was still fully across the tyre.
So online to get the best price on a set pf PR3's and got them from Chain Reaction. Only problem- No Grey/Black in stock and as the bike is
white- I did not feel like fitting a coloured tyre on it. For some reason I thought white tyres would work- well better than blue or yellow or the other colours that are available- So that is what I got.
The tyres work superbly- but that may be because I am biased- and even had a chance to prove that they work well on the downhill today. They roll better than the OM's and I have confidence in the bike.
Only downside is that colour. Mainly white bike with white bar tape and saddle and I have now made it whiter with White tyres. It is too much over the top
Compare that with the black tyres I had on before and hopefully you agree.
I know I disliked white on a bike before I got the Pinnie- but now it has white tyres it is not looking good. It has lost that bit of class it used to have and looks like a "Poseurs" bike. All I need is the the Houseboy following on behind in the 4x4 and it will be complete.
