No April's Fooling - Applying for Clyde Emeritus Status
Well today makes a month that I have been below the 200lb mark on the scales so I figure that it is time for me to apply for my Clyde Emeritus Status.
On December 23, 2010 I stepped on the special scales that would weigh to 400lbs I just bought and I weighed in at 355lbs. I was tired of hurting and being unable to get around due to my girth. I had lost down to 222lbs in 2008 as I was training to compete in the Scottish Highland games but when I did so poorly in the games (I felt like a midget) I fell off the weight loss wagon.
Cycling as a sport will always give me the goal of being lighter than my current weight as there is such a benefit to being lighter. Cycling also allows me to eat more than I could without cycling although I still have to track every calorie that I eat.
How have I done it? First I give glory to Jesus who as the Lord of my Life has given me the wisdom and determination to lose the weight. Then comes tracking calories religiously and ensuring that I eat less calories than I burn for the day. MyFitnessPal has been an indispensable tool in helping me to lose weight along with the fact that I weigh myself every day so I know what is working and what isn't. I also bought a digital food scale and I very strictly measure out my portions at the house and that has helped me tremendously in learning what is a correct portion.
That's all for now folks.
