How to look for nothing and find a Merckx part two.

Some of you may recall my thread of a year and a half ago, detailing finding an MX Leader at a yard sale. At the risk of completely annoying the lot of you, here is a recent thrift store find:

10th aniversary Eddy Merckx, TSX frame. Mostly complete C record group (no post, pedals), with delta brakes. It wasn't cheap (relatively or for a thrift purchase), but I should be more than okay on this one. If it makes you feel better, the C record is not pristine; the crank is well scratched. And, like the other Merckx, it is not my size. If I were a bit shorter or had a shorter inseam, believe me, I would have cleaned up on these two. As it is, I now have to go through the hassle of a trade or sale, which I don't enjoy but will do. I'd rather they were just 62s to start with. I feel your tears through my computer screen.

There are paint flaws on the frame; in general it is okay, and some chrome is flaking on one of the stays. I think it'll clean up okay. But the delta brakes are pretty nice.

Slight rust on the underside gives me pause, but I shined a light inside and didn't see anything. I need to do a more thorough look over:

I suppose lightning may strike twice, although I wouldn't trade either or both of the Merckxs for the Bonanno I found in between. And when I type that sentence I realize how ridiculous it looks. To find three bikes at this quality level, locally, in a year and a half, is just stupid dumb luck, nothing more.

Please, limit the hate. I'm really not that awful a guy, I swear.
