I think sometimes we forget the importance of learning some of these skills. FOr example, you are in a 120 mile road race, it is hot and while coming through the feed zone you miss your mussette, now what? Do you stop, back up and find it? Heck no you:
1. Grab someone else's (

- guess who would do this) - that is why you tell the people in the feed zone never stick that arm out until they make eye contact with the rider
2. Look for someone else who missed/dropped a bottle and scoop it off the ground - been there, done that.
I have also grabbed someone's rain coat, glasses, etc.
Sometimes these skills can save you from dropping out due to dehydration/bonk.
