I'm new, so I hope this sub-forum provides solace for those like me who :-
a. Struggle to get my leg over, even on a bicycle I've owned & ridden for the
last 55 years & on which saddle has been lowered below the demands of
cycling fashion
b. Fall in a great heap with legs entangled in frame when trying to get leg over
c. Do not seem able to remember how to get out of frame once trapped in it
d. Once mobile, manage to ride just far enough to be unable to ride back .....
e. Can still rmember what we did as young riders, & nearly kill ourselves trying
to ride as we did & forgetting the 50 years in-between (until it's too late)
f. Cannot believe how hard & narrow a '50's racing saddle is, or how soft our
rumps have become.

In seventieth year, & still have 3 of my old '50's racers. Now have a house drive
that's 100 yards of 1 in 5 (20% for US readers). That's a challenge before I get
onto the road to anywhere, & has caused me to put gears onto one of the oldies
for the first time ever. Pushing a big fixed gear is tough in the hill country now ....
