Bikes: Catrike Trail Recumbent trike

Good commutes today.

61F and sunny with mainly headwinds and some crosswinds from the WNW @ 17-24mph gusting to 31mph for the ride in. Second time this week I almost witnessed an accident. I was riding in the wide shoulder (trike lane as I like to call it) and a vehicle passed going the same way and had just put on his left blinker. He couldn't turn because there was oncoming traffic. Three other vehicles pulled up and stopped behind the stopped left turner. I was expecting them to go around in the shoulder, so I hung back. Surprisingly they did not. A few seconds later I noticed a Nissan Rogue flying up to the stopped cars. The driving slammed on the brakes with tires screetching and had to go into the shoulder to avoid rear ending the stopped vehicles. I am really glad that I hung back, or I could have been hit by the Nissan driver, who clearly wasn't paying attention.

46F and dark with mainly cross/headwinds from the NW @ 16-28mph, with a spot rain shower and 38mph gusts in the beginning for the ride home. Got a slight cramp in my right hamstring with about 3 miles left of the commute. Luckly it wasn't too bad when I started the climb to my house.
